Looking for one-on-one lessons to build your sewing skills? We will tailor your lessons to help you reach your sewing goals.
Parent/Child Lessons
Learn to sew together! Spend quality time together and learn new skills. Work on a project together and create new memories.
Group Lessons
Group lessons are for 2-3 kids. Best for sibling classes or friends who want to learn to sew together.
Types of Classes available
Beginner - 6 weeks
- Learning hand/machine sewing, terminology, tools
- Hand sewing projects
- Basic machine projects
- Reading/sewing from a pattern/terminology
Refresh - 4 weeks
- Simple projects to re-acclimate to the machine
- Build towards final goal project
Upcycling - 6 weeks
- Basic non-sew projects
- Simple sewing upcycles
- Using scraps
- Final project
Repairs/Alterations - 4 weeks
- Learn hand-sewing techniques for mending
- Learn machine patching/mending techniques
- Simple alterations i.e. Raise hem or shoulders on sleeveless top, take in side seams
One-offs- as needed
- For when you’re stuck on a project

Why learn to sew?
Cultivating creative outlets helps relieve stress, develops critical thinking skills and allows us the freedom to create something tangible and fulfilling. Once you become confident with basic sewing skills, the creative doors are open to you. Fit clothing to your body type, make something uniquely you, and control the power to consume less by altering or repairing garments from you
own closet or procured 2nd hand.

My studio stocked with many essentials and students are welcome to make use of that stock for a small materials fee.
I am also happy to make group online orders within the FYA community to help make online orders more efficient.
